Lazy or Innovative?
Took this with my phone on their third pass down the street.
Not a great photo so here are the details:
- Beater vehicle
- Some rope
- Buddy sitting in back to capture on phone
- Skateboard(s)
- Smalltown road
And here’s what you get:

Now my question to you is…are these High School students lazy, or innovative?
1 comment3rd Place
The Gardner Rockies season came to a close last night in a 8-16 loss to Eudora. The guys played pretty well but gave up a lot of runs towards the end. Good job on 3rd place though, that’s pretty darn good from the season!
1 commentBaseball – Semi-Final game up next
The Gardner Rockies held off the DeSoto Dragons last night in a nail biter! They won by 1 run and (some) will be playing tonight at 6pm, then 8pm if they win….for 1st place! They had some great pitching by Jordan, and Nate came in and closed it out. Kevin was awesome behind the plate catching once again! Two of the few players that won’t be playing are the coaches son’s (Kevin included), as they will be on vacation.
Ho-Hum
GO ROCKIES!
No commentsBaseball update
Rain today caused the tournament games to be postponed until Monday and Tuesday night. So the Rockies will be playing at 8pm Monday night.
No commentsBaseball Tournament – Gardner Rockies
Kevin’s team started their tournament Wednesday night with a big win 16-7 against the Gardner Red Sox. They then dropped their second game Thursday against Eudora, which made their road much more difficult (it’s a double-elimination tournament).
They played Spring Hill tonight, and won 14-9 to stay alive! Kevin was the starting pitcher and did great! He’s not pitched much at all, and isn’t his most comfortable place to be, but he worked through it like a champ! He’s most “at home” at home plate, as catcher and is quite the “Flash” the entire game!
So tomorrow (Saturday the 12th) will be (hopefully) a FULL day of baseball! First up is DeSoto at 11 AM. If (when) we beat them they play the looser of the winning bracket at 2PM. If (when) we beat them they play the winner of the winning bracket at 4PM. Then if the winning bracket were to loose their first game, there would be a 6PM game for the Championship. Yes, that means there will either be 3 or 4 games in a 7 hour period of time!
LET’S GO ROCKIES!
I’ll do some posts throughout the day to update everyone.
Click Kevin’s photo for more photos from 3 games a few weeks ago that I took.
No commentsJoCo = #3
Alright! Johnson County, Kansas (our home) was just named the #3 place on the top 20 “Best Places to Raise a Family” list by Forbes magazine!
No commentsS.S. Normandy Firework
These were new (at least to me) this year. The Normandy Landing Craft. Whistles while giving off white flashes from the stern, then the helicopter takes off. Blue light and crackling white come from the lander stack and red light then crackling white from the artillery gun. The front landing gate drops open and releases a landing tank which drives out landward with a crackling white display.
This one did everything it was supposed to, but then kind of had a fire on-deck!
Not like they used to be…
